ABOUT US
We are a family of four – mom (Otilia), dad (Ted) and our two little boys, Tavi and Roby, currently residing in Ohio, USA. Ted was born in Canada (British Columbia), but moved to Ohio when he was an infant. He has a Forestry degree and is very passionate about anything nature, hence he is our walking encyclopedia when we go for hikes. I was born and raised in Romania and didn’t travel abroad until I was 19, when I first came to the United States. That was the trip that changed my life. Once I discovered traveling, there was no looking back for me. My wanderlust took me to Spain, where I lived and studied for a year. Then, I returned to the US as an au pair, met my husband and got married. We are now parents to two adventurous boys, who love traveling as much as their momma
Our boys are, in many ways, your typical 6 and 4 year olds: they love super heroes, pretend play, swords, trucks, airplanes, sticks and rocks. And they really, really like getting muddy. But they also love books, and cuddling with mommy and daddy, and making breakfast with me in the morning, and drawing and coloring (mostly monsters, zombies and aliens, but I’ll take it). And they especially love exploring. They are friendly and easy to travel with, and I love that they remember details from our travels that were completely wiped out of my mind, so I know they will be active contributors to this blog
So far, they have been to Romania, Greece, Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica and have explored 12 states in the US. They were each 3 months at the time of their first trip and we have never regretted traveling with them…well, maybe that one time when we were read-ended by a drunk driver in Romania, right after we’d been through the biggest snow fall in 100 years in Romania and we had subsequently lost power for 3 days, all while both kids were sick with RSV. Yeap, that one was a rough one! And maybe we didn’t want to travel anymore for like…a week.
Whenever possible, my parents also travel with us. We are grateful for the chance to explore the world together and for the memories our kids will have with their grandparents.
