In our years of travel, we have stayed in more than 100 different accommodations around the world, from hotels to cave and tree houses, from apartments to cabins and tents. Most of them ranged from decent to very good, with a handful of complete disasters and a dozen of amazing ones.

In this post, I will list all of the accommodations that awed us in Europe and the reasons why we loved them.

They were all booked via Booking.com, Hotels.com or Airbnb.com

I am not an affiliate of any of those search engines and I do not receive any commission from them.

These are my honest reviews of the places we loved.

1. AUSTRIA

1.1 Superbude Hotel (Vienna)
What makes it one of our most favorite accommodations in Europe:

  •  the whole building is like an art exhibit and in every corner you can find interesting or quirky things
  •  very stylish and clean
  •  themed hotel – each room had a different theme, like ”Cinema”, ”Bird’s Nest”, ”Disco”, ”Glamping” etc
  •  you could choose different songs or voices to play in the elevator
  • good food at the rooftop restaurant
  • our room had ”hidden beds” for children and a secret stairway to get to them. Our kids had a blast playing hide and seek there.

The family room we stayed in - the kids beds are ''embedded'' in the wall behind the TV. There's also a secret, hidden staircase leading to the beds.
