The best kid-friendly Restaurants with play areas in Ubud, Bali

Ubud has an incredible amount of restaurants – fancy, local, organic, vegan, foreign, cheap, family owed. You name it, you’ll find it in Ubud. Do you know what else Ubud does really well? Offering a plethora of restaurants with entertainment for kids, be it a pool, a playground, movies or all of them all-together.

During our month long stay in Ubud, we discovered a multitude of kid-friendly restaurants and these one are the best.

This is one of the restaurants we went to multiple times during our stay. The food was decent, they had live music on Saturdays and our kids loved the pool and the playground. On top of that, you only pay for what you consume. There is no entrance fee and no fees for sun beds or the use of the pool. It was never crowded and, for the working parents, they have two co-working spaces and the wifi is great.

Good Day Ubud is located in the middle of a rice field, so make sure you take a little walk around to enjoy the views.

Titi Batu is the place we went to on Sundays, for their weekly ”Sunday Funday” – the day the kids overtake the club, between 11 am – 5 pm.

Foam party

They have different themes every week, like ventriloquism, magic for kids, water gun fight etc.

My kids favorite was the foam party. You can check their current events here.

Titi Batu is not just a restaurant though, it’s a club. It also offers a coworking space, a gym, a dry sauna, a steam room, a massage parlor and live music/DJ’s on the weekends. There is a fee to enter Titi Batu, but during ”family fun days” that fee can be used as credit for the food/drinks.

We loved everything about this place, from the food, to the location in the a beautiful rice field, the playground, the pool and the green space where the kids could run around. We spend many blissful afternoons at Kelapa Muda. There is no entrance or pool fee and just a small one if you want to rent towels.

This is one of the hidden gems of Ubud. We found out about it from a friends who’s lived in Bali for a few years. In fact, most of the families that were at NEUN at the same time with us were local.

Things we loved about this place: beautiful setting, little shaded huts by the pool where you can eat, awesome pool, nice playground and a very affordable Bali swing.

Waiting for the movie to start (you can see the screen in the back)

This restaurant is like a little hidden oasis in downtown Ubud. It has a nice atmosphere, courteous staff and very good food – we loved their pizzas. It’s more expensive and upscale than a lot of other restaurants in Ubud.

Every Tuesday and Sunday, they have their ”Popcorn club” – free moving showing at twilight (7pm). You need to make a reservation or you might not get in. We weren’t aware of this and we just showed up.

They were sold out for the movie, but we decided to stay anyway for dinner. It turned out to be a good decision, because in the end the staff were kind enough to bring extra chairs for our kids.

Not all of the movies are kids’ movies, but you can find out exactly what they’re showing on the official   Folk website. To make it even more awesome, they have all kinds of different popcorn flavors to choose from .

We didn’t use the pool, but I do believe there’s a fee for that.

Mana Ubud is a small, beautiful resort built with earthly materials. They have a kids’ movie every Friday night at 5 pm, kids Balinese dance class on Wednesdays, kids cooking classes by-weekly on Saturdays and a sustainable food market on Saturdays as well. You can see all of their events here.

Their food combines Japanese and Indonesian cuisines and, although healthy, I thought it was just ok.

Playground at Bali Funtastic

Good food, good drinks and an awesome playground. Bali Funtastic is located North Of Ubud, so it would be a good place to stop by for some food and playtime after you visit the famous rice terraces of Tegalalang.

This restaurant is fantastic for families traveling with kids who are into fantasy and mysticism. Your menu is selected for you based on the tarod cards you choose (you can opt out of this and just order the food of your choice, but ”dinner by tarot card” is so much fun in my opinion). The venue is gorgeous and the food is delicious.

This place is such a gem! The food is really good and the newly build, wooden playground is fantastic. They also offer camps, classes, kids club (for kids between 2 – 7 years old) and events like Lego playdate, every Tuesday and Friday at 3:30 pm or the Bonfire party, every weekend at 12:30 pm. They also have a special family day on Sundays and movie night on Sat/Sun. You can see their current events on their Facebook page.

Our oldest one wanted to have his face painted, our youngest opted out :))

Frankenstein’s Laboratory is not in Ubud, but in Seminyak. I thought it was worth mentioning it, in case you travel with kids who are passionate about Halloween, like mine are. This restaurant is unlike any I’ve ever been before. It’s not just Halloween themed, it’s Halloween …interactive. All the staff wear costumes and they have ”human statues” who just sit silently on tables or benches and give you the occasional scare.

For a fee, you can have your face painted or you can choose the SFX silicone make-up. The artists they hire are very good and the end results looked very realistic. It could be scary for some kids, but ours loved it.

They also have a kids’ show, where they dance and sing on stage.

Their pizzas were really good and the kids can drink different beverages that mimic blood or slime from sample tubes.
